A Tenth Anniversary Tribute
It is Belle Mariano’s 10th year in showbiz. Thank God for this day Belle set foot on showbizlandia. She practically spent half of her life in the public eye, and thank God, as well, for her supportive parents who gave their nod to this bida-bida girl to dabble in acting at an early age. Today, as part of her anniversary, DonBelle Daily offers 10 things we absolutely love about Belle Mariano.
1. Verstile Thespian – Her range is quite wide. We have seen her do
comedy as a Goin’ Bulilit mainstay to being part of soap operas as the young
version of the leads or the villain. She has acted with veteran actors and held
her ground. She is also slowly but surely doing transition acting which is so
rare for actors to master. Remember that scene from LICB where Ino and Iris
were trying to light the fire for the bonfire, and she became jealous? You can
see the clear shift in her emotions from being happy to be on a vacation to jealousy and worry. She brought the viewers from one state to the
next and fast. That is a hard thing to do. It is easy to act scared, mad, or
happy, but it is hard to bring people from one emotion to the next.
2. Talented Singer – Belle surprised many when it turns out that she can
carry a tune enough to be able to have an album and a concert. Her voice is so
melodic, and she does not force herself to execute those that are not within
her range. Even foreigners seem to enjoy her music even if they are in Filipino
just because they appreciate her sheer talent. They have praised her vocals
even without understanding what she was singing about. Proof would be

3. Active Living- Not a medalled athlete, but she seems to be able to be
willing to do sports and do well. She did mention playing volleyball in high
school and staying in school just to play. We did see vids of her assisting
Donny in basketball and starting to play golf, scuba diving, and tennis.

4. Book worm – She is a self-confessed book lover, and that is a breath
of fresh air. Especially since in this day and age, a lot of us would rather
watch a vid than to really enjoy some quiet time and read. I hope that her
confession of being an avid reader will inspire this generation to give the
written word a chance. She even shows the books that she is currently reading when
she goes live. She also mentions this in the Magandang Buhay interview that she
read during her free time. Reading builds character, teaches you new vocab, and
expands your horizons by learning from the events and people from the book. It
is one thing she has in common with her namesake, Belle from “Beauty and the
Beast” – she often has her nose buried in a book. She talks about being in

5. Obedient daughter- When asked if she has a boyfriend already in a Magandang
Buhay interview or if someone is courting her, she would say, “bawal pa po.”
You’d see that she knows her boundaries especially if they are set by her
parents. She has been in the presence of a bevy of good looking actors her age
and those a little older than she is, but she chose to adhere to her parents’
wishes. There was an ASKfm question about this. “pwede ka bang ligawan when she
was a teen and her reply was “ligawan mo raw muna si daddy ko.” And so I wonder…

6. Humble Heart- Sometimes, she doesn’t post about milestones of her
series, her movie, or her songs. Fans sometimes wish she would, but it looks
like she is not one to boast about how many views her songs have gotten, or
stuff like that. She is not one to flex herself, and that can be so
endearing.
7. Private Life- Some will disagree, but it is refreshing that she does
not post every day. She knows what to put out there and what to keep to
herself. This is so refreshing because we are not bombarded with every little
thing she does everyday that we actually want to know more. It adds to the
mystic and her allure as an artist.
8. Commitment to Self-Improvement – From the very start, she tries her
best to attend workshops so that she can hone her craft - from Personality Development
with Ma’am Charo to acting workshops and even workshops with Tito Boy. Remember
during an interview, she told Tito Boy to include her if he has one in the near
future. This is one reason why she is a good role model. Her commitment to be
better despite the fact that she is already winning in life will hopefully show
this generation that learning does not stop and there is always something that
needs to be improved in our lives.

9. Kind Soul- Remember her Insta live while performing songs when someone
commented that she is not pretty at all. Instead of lashing out on them, she choose
to take the high road and thank them for their time. That was such maturity at
a young age. Many of us will not be as calm, collected, and gracious when
attacked and even humiliated that way to a crowd. It was even reported by different

10. Authentic Personality: We all say she acts naturally. And in one
Kumu live when Belle left to dress up, the glam team took over the live and
answered questions being sent. The hairstylist Mama Brent answered one question
about what makes Belle different. He answered that she is authentic. Mama Jake
added that it transcends even on screen. On cam or Off cam, she is just the
