Congratulations are in order as the three eldest Pangilinan kids recently graduated. It is a momentous occasion as graduations don’t happen every day, and it is a testament of hard work, discipline, and determination. There are some lessons to be learned from this.
- Education is important. Donny and his sibs show us how despite earning already,
they still made sure that they finish school. There are many options now to
pursue one’s studies despite being busy in other stuff like work and hobbies.
If you find yourself in a position where you need to balance other
responsibilities with school, keep in mind that there are now different ways to
earn that degree. No matter how much time has lapsed between high school and
college and no matter the reason for stopping, always go back and continue
pursuing higher education.

an opportunity to grow. According to Donny’s posts, the three siblings decided to
pursue their degrees during the start of the pandemic. When everything was at a
standstill, take that as a chance to catch up on things you have always wanted
to do but had to be swept by the side lines. Instead of panicking for the loss
opportunities brought about by the lockdown, Donny found a way to use the time
to study. Instead of being fearful of the changes happening around him, he took
the reins to do something worthwhile.
- Bubblies
have always said they miss Donny or Belle, and most times, even both during
those times they do not appear in public, and there is 0 news or sightings.
Hope this reminds us that they have other roles in life. Donny was a student.
He is a brother, a son, a friend, an advocate, and a Christian, among other
roles he has. To say they are busy is an understatement. We don’t know half of
the things that they have to attend to on a daily basis. And they need that
balance, too, to help them keep their feet on the ground. If you think you are
missing them, just remember that they have a life too outside showbiz, and we
should not want it any other way. Maybe, we can just vote, stream, do a
throwback…who knows there might be some gems hidden somewhere that should clue
us in on how long we have been in the dark on just how close they are.
- Time Management is key. We have heard about how Donny brings his modules to work and do them in between breaks. Maybe we could learn a thing or two about prioritizing, managing our affairs, and hard work. Remember this story going around the net about the jar and how much can we put in there? Somehow, it reminds me of Donny with this revelation of how he also worked and studied hard. Find a crew to support you. It is not easy to juggle time. The worse thing to happen is to squander time than money. Time is a resource you can never have back, so spend it wisely with things and people that truly matter. Here is a link to a Tweet where AC Bonifacio's mom talked about how Donny brings his modules to work and one when Donny's Dad posted a pic of him studying on the set: https://twitter.com/onetruepairph/status/1579248689565925376

5. That said,
take note of how Donny mentioned fights with his sibs while going through the
program. He also mentioned how his parents would always remind him to do his
tasks (can you imagine how a 24 year old grown man who is also quite a giant
would take to being reminded at all times? To some, that can be irritating). To
achieve goals and dreams, one cannot get there alone. Find a crew that can
stand up to you. Find a group who will encourage you and admonish you even,
when needed. It is not easy to study much less to do it while your plate is
full with other responsibilities. The crew will let you know when you are
slacking and caution you. Find those whose opinions matter to you and who will
give it without batting an eyelash. Keep your support group close. You cannot
do it alone. You need people to not only encourage you, but also to let you
know when you
are not doing your job.
Again, congratulations, Ella, Donny, and Hannah for showing everyone that it
can be done.
