A Fan Experience with Donny and Belle in SF

We have a few insights from a Bubbly who attended the San Francisco leg of the Star Magic Beyond the Stars show. She is also a part of DonBelle Engagement Patrol despite being thousands of miles away from Philippine shore. We told her she can do live especially for the part of Donny and Belle’s prod or just about every time they would be on stage. We know that the prod in Resorts World and in NY is the same as the one in SF, but did it matter? Nah. We just want more of DonBelle. We’d like to see them each and every chance we can get. We sent Kai some questions right after the event. Here are her answers in verbatim. We will be injecting our notes every once in a while, but we’d alert you if it is DonBelle Daily’s Notes.

 

How did you prepare for this event?

It was hard to prepare, I don't even know if I was fully prepared before the show, I think mentally I did. I was busy before the show so I guess that was my regret. I made sure though that I had a good data so I can do the live hahahahaha  

DonBelle Daily Notes: She is technically a working student in the Bay Area. We all know how life in the US gets hectic often times. In fact, these answers were returned to us just a week ago due to her busy sked.

 

Why did you want to go to this event?
I wanted to go because I know DonBelle can't go here in the states instantly. They'll be here one to twice a year probably. So seeing them would be once in a lifetime opportunity and the fact that Star Magic added San Francisco, I had an advantage for the less travel time. Knowing US is a very big country and Filipinos are everywhere in this country, for sure DonBelle will explore and meet their fans in different states as well.

DonBelle Daily Notes: Kai actually bought tix for the LA show a few moments from the time that it was released.. She was willing to go through a five hour or so drive just to see Donny and Belle. Good thing, they added a San Francisco stop.

 

How does it feel to be in close proximity with DonBelle?

It felt surreal even now. I had that expectation that I'll be meeting them in person but it was at that moment, I still couldn't believe that they were there infront of me. (Sobrang ganda ni Belle and super pogi ni Donny, di ko alam parang mas bagay sila sa art musuem naka display eh. Their visuals are insane and the way they bring themselves, it was different. )

DonBelle Daily Notes: Kai was seated right at the heart of the first rows.

What convinced you to do live during DonBelle’s prod?

It convinced me because even though bubblies and solids have already watched the full show from PH and NY, DonBelle's impact has been always different every leg and it shows. It would be a let down if bubblies and solids will miss it, right?

DonBelle Daily Notes: Thank you to all the Bubblies willing to take us to the shows with them. Never mind the time difference, a glimpse of Donny and Belle is always refreshing. They are always our uppers. There is at least one Bubbly in every stop doing a simulcast.

Take note, too, of the sacrifice that Kai and the others who took vids had to make. Kai for one, made sure she has ample data, battery, and could not even shout during the parts her heart was screaming with kilig. She can’t jump out of glee either for fear of giving us a substandard experience. Thanks, Kai!

Did you enjoy DonBelle’s prod? 

BIG YES! I was speechless. (Pahamak talaga yung payong, char)

DonBelle Daily Notes:
The umbrella, though, not a welcome sight, has given us more things to feed to our imagination. Was there a kiss? Where? Was it just a hug? Did she lean into his chest? Somehow, the guessing game has gone off in different directions, and we have the payong to blame.

 

Did DonBelle meet your expectations from their talent to their interaction with fans? 

Of course, both of them are super talented and they love their fans so much. You can tell that they are so genuine to their fans, they try to interact with all of them as much as they can.

DonBelle Daily Notes: Some people say you should never meet your idols. They don’t measure up, and you will end up disappointed. This is not true in Bubblies case, everyone who has seen them  in person simply can’t help but gush over them. Common feedback goes like these “They are stunning that the camera does not capture it fully.” “They are so nice and accommodating.”

 

How does it feel to see some of your vids and pics making the rounds in soc med? 

Honestly, I don't even know what was going on, I tried to make sure to post those videos or pics in real time because I want to let the fans feel that they were with DonBelle. I also like that bubblies and solids were witnessing how DonBelle genuinely treat each other offcams.

DonBelle Daily  Notes:  Thank you for this generosity to your fellow fans, Kai. Did you know that she shared a photo with DonBelle to me thru DM, and she was yet to post it online, but I was surprised that it already made the rounds in the TL because some people she shared it with was too excited, went ahead and posted it already. All before she could.

 

Any other stuff you'd like to share? 

Overall, the show was amazing! I got to not only see DonBelle but also other artists that I only see on tv. And what Belle said from an interview (sorry I forgot what interview it was) was spot on because they really brought home to us.

DonBelle Daily Notes: This was mentioned by Belle in the prescon before they left for the US. In a stroke of genius, she says she is excited to help bring cheers to kababayans who have been abroad and to bring home to them. This struck a chord to some who have been anywhere but the Philippines for a long time. Seeing artists like Donny and Belle can bring back memories of being in the motherland. Hearing performances in Filipino make you feel like you are in Araneta or PICC or even in the ABS-CBN studios watching with family and friends. And in this tour, it seems that new friendships are born as people come together from different states and places to watch Donny and Belle. Aside from a few hours of Donny and Belle bringing the Phil to our kababayans in the US, they also brought people together.

 


 It has been barely a month. I am sure the smiles will stay for such a long time. Being united for and with Donny and Belle has been such a blessing for all of us. Seeing them perform is the cake and being able to see them enjoying while they tour places familiar to our kababayans is the icing. We hope that there will be more chances for Donny and Belle to experience the warmth and hospitality of our kababayans all over the world. And this wish is coming true with them being in the list of artists who will be gracing the Las Vegas ASAP stage in November.
