We have tried to go over the different problems Max and Deib face in He’s Into Her Season 2. Since the two have a deeper relationship, the kilig goes beyond the tension between Max and Deib. There are actual skinship and words of affirmation from both ends. Here are the different moments when we definitely swooned.
Exchange of Vows:
After some challenges have been hurdled, they
would talk to one another and give out promises. Sometimes, they would sound
like vows made in front of a pastor/priest or any officiating authority. At
times, you get the feel of a wedding happening right before our eyes.
Sometimes, they are simply just trying to learn from what happened. In Episode 3, they do just that. Stand in front of the altar with their hands intertwined
and exchanging pledges to each other. Deib does say that he has lost a lot of
people, but Max makes everything lighter and him determined to be better. In
Episode 7, they have an exchange of words expressing their love each other even
without really saying the 8 letters, 3 magic words something that Deib
initiates after fighting over the vid, Exes Try, that makes Deib super jealous.
Of course, in Episode 6, Deib cannot pass up on the chance to give promises to
Max from taking care of her, protecting her, and the attempt to be better
person because of her.
This will have us swooning as Deib
has the best lines to tell his beloved Max. He just knows the right words to
say. Even when they have broken up, he can tell Max just how much he has missed
her and what they have. He even enumerated the little things they do like
hugging, kissing (You remember this? It was not in the original script!), Max
singing to him or calling him up in the morning to wake him up. He gives us a
summary of what they usually do as a couple in Episode 13.
Deib seems to be the more eloquent
between the two that he is also the one to have started their call signs like MOO
being “My One and Only” or a hugot line coming from a cow as the same sound
with Kaw saying You when he said “Ikaw Lang Sapat na” (You are enough.) .
Not as articulate as Deib, but Max
is always direct to the point in saying “I love you”, “Mahal kita” at “Ikaw
lang ang mamahalin”, but just as effective of course. This, we even hear twice
in Episode 8 as Deib himself notices. In Episode 4, She even says she does not
know why she is lucky to have a boyfriend who is so good looking when Deib is
preparing to leave for the party of Kim’s grandfather. In Episode 14, Max can’t
help but feel worried and concerned because Deib’s car breaks in the middle of
the road. Her line “Paano kasi kung maaksidente ka dito sa kotse mo di mo chinicheck
concerned lang naman ako,” betrays her stand to not get back together. There is
surely too much love in between those lines.
Those touches:
Deib often reaches out to Max to
hold her hand while talking or listening. In Episode 1, as they wait for the bell
to ring to signal the start of school, Max and Deib hold hands as they talk
about how they can let Maxim Luna know about their relationship and how Deib
can see a future with Max. We also see Deib reaching out to hold Max during a senior’s
assembly announcing the launch of the Career Fair in Episode 7. Deib even hugs
Max in front of his parents and with Tito Maxim inside the room after his trial
in Episode 5. From the lows and tension of being accused for the past days and
the highs of being given another chance, Deib just needs to hug his gf who also
single-handedly brings the School Board to reverse its original stance towards
his expulsion.
Of course, the pool scene in Episode 2 where they are locked in each other’s embrace and Deib even tickles Max has given us reason to smile the whole ensuing week. Oh, there are just too many to mention in this second episode! Even the look on their faces is golden; they look so naturally happy dipping their legs in the pool and stargazing. Episode 6 is another gold mine of those hugs and physical touchiness of the two because this is their monthsary episode. I probably do not need to dwell on this. I believe this is forever etch in every Bubblies and Solids’ memory. What about that Takas Tayo moments in Episode 9, when they freely run around like kids without a care in the world, and Deib tickles Max?
Even as secret lovers in Episode
11, the TagSen couple find ways to touch each other as they hold hands while on
different aisles of the library. I wonder how many lovers will try that trick.
Who would forget that clandestine hug outside of The Barb unbeknownst to most
of their inner circle hanging out as Max works her shift? These moments are quite
intensely swoon worthy.
Even after they have broken up,
Max and Deib still continue to be touchy with each other. In Episode 12, Max returns Deib’s monthsary gift signalling
that they are not a couple anymore. Even after this, Deib and Max still show
that they can’t go on without any physical contact. Deib does initiate holding
Max’s hands in the elevator. In the 13th Episode, Deib also carries
Max from the elevator to the classroom where they are supposed to be staying
during detention. If that is not intimate, I don’t know what is. He is also
making sure to be a human clutch for her as she limps her way towards the
school grounds when they are dismissed.
Almost Lip Lock
Almost kissing each other has been something of a staple for us in HIH Season 2. In Episode 1, we almost thought there will be a smack, at least, if not for Max noticing that Elle has entered The Barb. It is still fine as we witness a nose to nose which is considered a kiss for Eskimos in Alaska. The paper kiss in Episode 6 has an impact, too. As there might be paper, but the sweetness and ways they held on to each other during that moment and even after, makes viewers faint with the extreme emotion. Another almost kiss could have happened if their phones have not rung while their lips close in on each other when they bunked school for the day. These have become a part of the series that there are some, even when they have broken up already. From the elevator scene that is interrupted by their classmates running in the corridor to the Cornetto scene where Deib was simply going to tell her about the ice cream on her lip in Episode 15, there is a lot of this ‘bitin’ moments. We also thought the time has come in Episode 14 when Deib confesses that there may be more reasons to stay away, but he just can’t and walk over to Max to share a moment. The exes arrive just in the nick of time halting its completion. This is probably the closest they have to a kiss and, their noses even touch. Well, it is a youth-oriented show. The chances are slim to see them in a lip lock even in Episode 16. Maybe, it can be the final scene of the last episode.
Some of us may have wanted these
scenes to have been consummated while some are not yet ready, at the least they
have been tastefully done. We can imagine that there are moments that Deib and
Max have these intimate moments as the captain of the Benison Bears already
confesses to missing doing that with her.
Intense Looks and Palpable
Chemistry
You can see that their eyes are
always trained on each other. During Basket Ball try outs for college varsity
for Deib and RJ in Episode 11, these looks betray the two. RJ sees them catching
each other’s eye, and Max’s lingering looks at Deib, and the Shark’s Team
Captain instantly know that there is still something between the couple. While in detention in Episode 12, they still
gaze at each other, and we can see that it is even harder for them to keep
their eyes off each other. Wonder how they have not melted while staring at
each other’s eyes as Deib carries Max back to the detention room? It is quite a
scene in Episode 13, don’t you think? One is full of love, the other full of
trepidation, not to show how much love there is. Go figure who is who. In Episode
15, as Deib enters The Barb and greets their circle, he ignores their questions
if he is joining Hugot Night because he is busy looking for Max in a roomful of
people.
The world is abuzz when the two
are in close proximity. Episode 15 has shown us so many of those electric vibes
between the two. When the locker kiss is being recreated, you can just almost
hear the buzz. When Deib almost falls off the steps in from of the Luna’s main
door, you can just see the pink bubbles when Max pulls him to safety and
inadvertently, closer to her. Even when they are eating the Cornetto and Deib
is trying to show her that she has an ice cream smudge, the chemistry is just
too strong.
We say good bye to He’s Into Her
Season 2, maybe to the whole series for good. For sure, we will always have
these sweet moments to reminisce when the drought can happen. Our routine will
change as there is nothing to look forward to every Wednesday. There will be no
TPs every Wednesday, either. There will be no more reactions on an episode,
vehement or triumphant ones. We could be entering a new era and truly starting
to say good bye to the first ever project that brought DonBelle into our lives.
I will choose to honor that and the many moments a smile formed on my face as I
see Donny and Belle as TagSen-Max and Deib.
