Truth be told, it is hard to find something to write about
today. Looking for an angle for something that has not been discussed, yet. It is even featured in TV Patrol and Bubblies and Solids had a TP after announcement. There
are many write-ups about it because most are excited for Star Cinema to come
back to life.
Anyway, we all have heard the good news of Donny and Belle
top billing the return to the theatres for Star Cinema. We all weighed in on
Twitter about how monumental this is. It even trended after the announcement. For
one, it tells us that Donbelle has the potential to help revive interest in
going to movie houses. They have been able to show that they have following huge online – Hello, Philippine and Worldwide
Trends! They also can bring people together in one roof. The mall shows have
been well-attended. Majority of fans in Araneta during ASG came for DonBelle.
Not to mention the throng of fans who trooped to Trinoma when the announcement
of the preview of Season 2, Episode 1 came to light, all point to one thing. If
there is anyone who can fill up the cinemas, it is DonBelle with their ever loyal, loving, supportive
Solids and Bubblies. Not to mention, they were the leads in the highest
grossing film of 2021.
There is not much to go on about the movie. They say it will
be hitting cinemas sooner than we think. As Donny and Belle on TV Patrol have
said, information will be given in the next few days. Before they leave for the
US for a series of Beyond the Stars show, they are in lock-in shooting. Maybe
we should just get ready with a. ticket money b. pocket money c. for minors, an
acceptable reason to wrangle permission from parents. But, these are exciting
times for the fandom, so be prepared. Let us go over what we do know now. Let
us try to see what the released poster has for us.
The two maybe on the off-center of the poster but we know
that the story will revolve around Donny and Belle. I wonder what their names
will be in this movie. What will be their roles? It looks like Donny is the
stiff, gentlemanly guy who, some even say nerdy, probably because of the spectacles
he is wearing. Belle with highlights on her hair, probably the more modern
quirky character. It is simpler to think of Belle as the rebel and Donny as the
goody two shoes. What “bubogs” do their characters carry?
They are eating the normal mix of food that you usually get
from a convenience store known to be open 24/7, but I can’t make out exactly what
they are holding. The parking lot does not have any vehicles. It seems they
have the place to themselves. They are sitting on a parking block. Does this
mean they don’t have a car? What time were they there? Sunrise or sunset? I’m thinking
that it was at dawn because that is the time that is crucial to have a convenience
store. There will be more options for them if they are together at sundown. I
was thinking maybe they are working in a call center that is why they needed to
satisfy their hunger on a store that is open 24/7. Or did they happen to be
talking to each other that they did not notice how much time has passed that they
have been together close to 24 hours.
In this pic, it looks like they are still getting to know
each other judging from the distance they have while sitting down and even the
line of the glass panel that cuts between them. There does not seem to be any
hostility between the two in the pic despite the obvious differences in their
get ups.
The words "Quick. Easy. Convenient?" were in the middle of the poster. It surely was not just about the convenience store. They were probably talking about what they have. Were they falling for each other quickly? Were the conversations easy? Did everything just become convenient? The only word that comes to mind with convenient is a marriage for convenience.
No matter what their personalities are, I think we will be
treated to a wonderful performance. The two will surely be doing their best to
bring their characters to life. For sure, Bubblies and Solids are going to be
excited for this. We are just so happy that they are picked to usher in the
return of Philippine movies to the Cinemas. Their success will help propel the
showbiz industry towards normalizing its operations.
