We have no idea how hard most artists work. Only those privileged to have the talent and the looks know that behind the glamor and the fame come a lot of hard work. The realization hit hard as we stood outside the set trying to talk about Donny and Belle and the other things that matter in the fandom or thinking of ways and means that we can see her and trying to figure out if Donato was with her. One of the guards keep on asking us if we are going to wait for a long time and keeps on reminding us that it is up to 9 or even 10 pm. Yes, we wanted to have a glimpse of DonBelle and to have a pic taken with them, but the realization that came out of the waiting game was sobering.
I realized
that Donny and Belle work long hours. Can you imagine how tired some of us from
an 8 to 5 job? Yesterday, Belle worked for more than 8 hours. And on top of
that she has to remain looking fresh and energetic, though she might be tired
already. In these kinds of set-up, one scene should be shot more than once with
different angles, and Belle has to show the same emotion, make sure she executes
them on the same spot with accurate movements, too. We realized that probably
the reason why they really need to sleep in during rest days. We realize that
they probably just crave their down time and being with people they love. We
have missed them from time to time, but beyond the glitz and glamour of the
life in showbiz is the reality that they do have punishing hours. That maybe,
we can give them a bit of space to breath, too. There maybe times they
disappear or be off the radar, and we hope that they can do live streams and
stuff. We can maybe remind ourselves that they are both in demand that is why
they can be very busy. If they want to stay away from the limelight for a
while, may be they need to rest and recharge, too. Besides from being an actor,
Donny is also a son, a brother to 4 sibs, a friend, among other things. Belle
is also not just an actress, but a daughter, the eldest sister in a brood of
five, and a friend, to mention a few of her roles. With the many roles they
have to fulfill, it will be a different kind of time management to pull things
through.
My mom
commented last night that Belle might have been sleeping soundly after that all
day shoot. I am just glad that Belle is pursuing her passion, one that she is
also good at. With that, she gets to enjoy despite being tired. For us, Solids and
Bubblies, maybe we can consider that what we see and know is only the tip of
the iceberg. The demands of the job can be grueling, so maybe we can all be
understanding, too.
