And just like that we are down to three episodes... Here is what we can make out of the teaser for Episode 14.
Some Hugot Night
Elle and
Migz host “Hugot Night,” and it seems Kuya Dale wants to start the ball
rolling. It seems he takes the opportunity to lay his cards on the table for
Michiko and telling her that he is not sure if Michiko is ready to entertain
suitors and to enter in a new relationship. This, along with Michiko not knowing whether
he is courting her when friends inquire and Kuya Dale confessing to the boys quite
threw me off the loop. Let us backtrack a bit. Michiko sat on his lap; they
almost kissed; she bakes her carrot cake, cupcake, and all the other ways carrot
can be baked. What are they doing then? When does courtship start? We’d love to

Ysay has
her turn on stage and gives a word of wisdom, “Don’t let go of love without a
fight” while the camera pans to Naih who is seated in front of Lee. Is that line for them? Certainly, the other
couple in Benison is trying to fight for love.
Deib and Max on a Road Trip
Let us go
over the last scene of Episode 13. Here, Deib receives a text message from a
possible informant to meet in a resort in Batangas- Villa San Antonio at 8pm
and warned that if Deib is late, there won’t be another chance. Since Deib
knows that Max will be off duty in a while, he asks this question: “Gusto mo ba
akong samahan sa Batangas?” Quite
innocuous if you ask me, but a long road trip can go both ways. It can be a
recipe for disaster or a good time to rekindle some old romance. The proximity
and the change in environment can pull people apart or together.
Another Road Trip Alert
The conniving exes seem like they decided to meddle this episode. We don’t know how they found each other once again, but they seem to be at The Barb. Why is Kim on the phone with Deib while RJ talks to Max? This confirms that Max agrees to go to Batangas with Deib. The ghoster and the cheat wants to run after them to prevent our protagonists from getting closer to each other. Kim even says they have to hurry lest the two decide to suddenly elope. Less two warm bodies for the Hugot Night for The Barb.
Will It Be Now
And then the next frame reveals Deib and Max by the side of the road. The two have tried their best to fight for their love. We hear what could be a monologue from Deib, who it seems delivers the most heartfelt hugot line for the night: “Even if there are so many reasons to stop loving you, even if it makes sense to just walk away, I can’t. I won’t.” These lines are probably the inspiration of the song “Kahit na, Kahit pa” since it seems to be the English version. Here, we hear Deib’s resolve to let nothing stand in their way. After all, we do see him wearing his ring still signifying that his promise to Max is unwavering. He also always has Max’s ring as if ready any time he finds a way or reason to return it to her.
This reminds me of something the priest in our high school often said- you love not because of but in spite of.
There is a promise of a kiss. We don’t ask anymore if it will happen or not. The question now is, what will interrupt them from this smooch this time. I remember Belle admitting that she listens to “Kiss Me” to make her Kilig, and she even plays this on her Kumu Live Stream at least onc. And the words “Ang Gabing Pinakahihintay ng Lahat” does show up before the scene is introduced. So, would you hedge a bet on this?

It is the
last three episodes. After the series, it might take longer to see them in a
new project, so savor each new episode and of seeing them as Deib and
Max. For sure, there will still be more things that will be unravelling before
us. The next time we see Donny and Belle would be as characters that they will
be taking on for film or teleserye. Deib and Max will take a rest after going
through the theme park of emotions.
