Some Thoughts Leading to Episode 5
We are on pins and needles about Episode 5-Crime and Punishment, because of the usual cliffhanger ending of episode 4- Test and Trials wherein they will be handing out the decision. Though a tense Deib tries to calm down as he looks at Max for comfort at the ending frame of Epi 4, we can’t help but think that the board will be harsh on him judging from the fact that at certain parts of the trial, they seem to be prosecuting him instead of being judges. Again, Deib is overran by his reputation as the big, bad boy of Benison International School that the board is acting bias towards expelling him.
The title
itself is also bringing so much fear to avid fans. Crime and Punishment is reminiscent of a fictional work from Russia where the story revolves around heinous
crimes like killings and robberies. Would Deib’s acts be considered as crimes themselves? Wouldn’t they constitute a teen-age misdemeanor? On the one hand, this
could be referring to the whole crime ring that Tito Boyet joined. As far as we
know they can be facing attempted robbery and attempted homicide, too. How this
will affect the whole love story of Max and Deib is what brings us on edge.
This is fortified by the scene of Tito Boyet talking to one of the cohorts who
says if there are pieces of evidence that the family got, then the family will
be in trouble. What sends chills down our spine is that the next scene shown is
the family in question having dinner with Max.
There might
be more interaction between Deib and his Dad. It seems in his dad’s eyes, Deib
can’t do anything right-from hiring a private investigator who ghosted him to
lending money to Tito Boyet, saying that the latter will also run away with the
75k. We also see a glimpse of a family dinner probably formally introducing Max
to Deib’s Dad, as mentioned above. We saw that she gets along well with Tita
Evita even from last season, but what about this Dad we all know little about? We have this sense that he might not be as welcoming. Oh Dads! This Season
seems to be about Daddy Issues.
We hear the
headmaster saying that Deib should say sorry to those he had bullied in the
past, but we see a wall with a hate message about Deib making their lives a
living hell in Benison. Who wrote that? Why say it only now? Why not testify
against him in the trial? That also does not seem to be fighting fair and
square. If they have beef against someone, use the proper forum to air the
grievance.
The most
heart-wrenching of all is a scene where a panicking Max on the phone is asking where Deib
is, and we see Deib being beaten to a pulp. (This is just so .........and
not the face of Deib. Pls. stop! Don’t hurt our Baby Babe.) Oh, out of
words for this glimpse of a scene! Tell us Deib is fine!
And I am trying to console myself because of this post from Belle Mariano...We Will be treated to a back hug and probably more. Thanks to Biogesic. The Episode might have a silver lining after all. Remember to choose kilig!
For now, it
is less than three hours before we know all the answers…and I hope it will
cheer us up a bit. I want to say a HOO HAH, not huhu…
Some side
notes:
It
seems that Elle was able to return to Benison. We see her in uniform and in
front of that hate message for Deib. Naih seem to be having a melt down because
of what seems like a lover’s quarrel, and Lee raised his voice at her in the
corridor.
